Impacted Teeth

This is a condition in which the permanent tooth does not erupt into the mouth.  It may be caused by improper positioning of a developing tooth bud, or the lack of adequate space for its eruption.  After the wisdom teeth, the upper canine tooth is the most common tooth which shows impaction.  Orthodontic treatment can bring the valuable tooth into the arch to avoid replacement with a bridge or an implant.
