The appointment when you get your initial appliance (braces, expander, etc.) usually takes one to one-and-half hours.  We schedule the longer appointments during the weekday mornings and shorter appointments after school.  You need to have your teeth cleaned and have a dental check-up by your dentist prior to beginning treatment. We have a video to show you how to take care of your braces.  Hygiene instruction will be thoroughly explained.  You will leave the office with adequate information and a list of foods to avoid.
During the course of your orthodontic treatments we will see you at regular intervals of four to six weeks apart for adjustments and to ensure the progress of the treatment as planned.  These appointments take 20 to 30 minutes.  For students, we normally make the appointments after school hours but once in a while they will be given morning appointments.
Regular Appointments
We make every effort to see our patients on time and expect the same courtesy in return. If you cannot keep an appointment please notify us 24 hours in advance.

The first few days after your braces are adjusted your teeth may be tender.  If necessary you may take Advil or Tylenol to alleviate the discomfort. Because dental hygiene is so important, we recommend regular visits to your family dentist for dental checkup and cleaning during your orthodontic treatment.
